THETA XI

WELCOME

Sisterhood, love and friendship. These are the words that come to mind when our members think of Zeta Tau Alpha. Although the ZTA experience begins in college, it extends far beyond four years.

The ZTA experience is made up of many parts. Sisters are connected to a large network of over 235,000 women, which provides countless opportunities. The bonds of friendship that are formed in both collegiate and alumnae chapters last a lifetime. Women develop leadership skills by taking on responsibility both within ZTA and in their communities. The Fraternity and ZTA Foundation support members’ growth through educational programming and opportunities to serve others and promote breast cancer education and awareness. Members of ZTA are encouraged to follow their passion, and their sisters are there to support those goals

OUR PHILANTHROPY

The ZTA Foundation fulfills the founding principles of our Fraternity by providing support for programs that are educational, philanthropic and leadership-oriented. Zeta Tau Alpha’s national philanthropy is breast cancer education and awareness.

Think Pink® is the umbrella theme for all of our breast cancer education and awareness projects. In addition to national efforts, chapters host their own local events and distribute Think Pink® ribbons and breast health tip cards throughout the year.

Each October, ZTA and our members recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month to increase awareness about early detection and to raise funds for this cause that is so close to every sister's heart.

Zeta Tau Alpha partners on a national level with several prestigious organizations in the fight against breast cancer.

  • American Cancer Society®: ZTA is the National Survivor Ambassador of Making Strides Against Breast Cancer®. Sisters provide assistance with survivor recognition at the nearly 300 Making Strides walks held in communities across the country.

  • National Football League: As the official fan outreach partner of the NFL, ZTA has worked with all 32 NFL teams to spread the message of breast cancer awareness.

  • Bright Pink®: This national nonprofit organization focuses on prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer. ZTA works diligently with Bright Pink to educate our sisters, family, friends and campus communities about the importance of early detection.

ZTA's philanthropic efforts for breast cancer are focuses are education, awareness, and survivor recognition. Our national partners are Bright Pink, the American Cancer Society, and the NFL. At Theta Xi, we support our philanthropy in many ways. During October, National Breast Cancer Awareness month, you can find us all over campus during Think Pink Week, which builds up to our favorite pageant, Big Man on Campus! We will also be walking at several Making Strides Against Breast Cancer events hosted by the American Cancer Society, and handing out pink ribbons at NFL and Rutgers Football games.

For more information about our chapter's philanthropy, how you can get involved, or where you can find us, contact our Director of Philanthropy, Nicolette Perera at ztarutgersvp4@gmail.com.
